What People Say

Fiona

"Lovely meal last night in this gorgeous place, greeted by Rhubarb the dog and taken into the drawing room by the delightful owner for drinks and canapés. Food beautiful and staff attentive but not over bearing. Cheese board was the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommended if you enjoy a true country house experience.”

“Family get together. Warwick Hall with its stately charm is a wonderful place to stay. Hosts were delightful, staff smiling and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely 3 course evening meal with delicious wine. The bedrooms were cosy and warm, the beds and pillows very comfortable. We all had a great night’s sleep and woke up refreshed to enjoy the beautiful view of the river flowing past the breakfast room window. What a view to wake up to! A superb, generous (cooked with local produce) breakfast was on offer with as much toast coffee and tea as you can manage. Would not hesitate to recommend for a comfy relaxing stay.”

“My daughter and I had a truly magical stay at Warwick Hall. Such a lovely setting. Hosts Val and Nick are genuinely welcoming, friendly, and the staff doting. From the Finnan Haddie to Steak Pie and Toffee Pudding, the food is exquisite. Walks along the river feel more like traveling back in time, and the pastoral views restore the soul. A must-see in Cumbria."

“A very special place. Beautiful home on the side of the River Eden. A strategy planning and team building weekend made unforgettable by Val and her merry team of truly professional staff. We had supper on Saturday evening and everyone was impressed. The steak pie was truly the best I’ve had and the reports from the Salmon team were excellent too. Breakfast included honey from the owners bee hives and some of the best sausages on earth. I’ve got to call out the ginger ice cream which I had to wrestle from my Father. With the river swollen the fishing was tricky but just being on the water is therapeutic in itself. The fireplace in the living room, next to the honesty bar was our hangout. The room is light with comfortable sofa’s, chairs and decorated with river scapes, fishing scenes and tasteful objects of interest. The grounds are wonderful and include an epic river bank walk through a walled garden, fishing huts and tennis courts. We left today feeling like we had been staying with an old pal rather than in a hotel. I travel well and Warwick Hall has been added to my list.”
